Economic Strategy

Tamworth Tomorrow is our region’s economic development strategy for 2022-2026.

Tamworth Tomorrow is a comprehensive document that was developed as a guide for everyone who contributes to the economic development of Tamworth. The strategy is focused on increasing our region’s population base which will in turn; fuel the local economy, drive innovation and encourage investment while also promoting cultural activity and entrepreneurial spirit.

The strategy has a strong people and place focus and harnesses knowledge, research and innovation as key drivers of Tamworth’s economic future. The strategy also highlights the value of attracting skilled professionals to our region while developing our existing employee skill base to match the future requirements of business and industry. The overarching theme of Tamworth Tomorrow is that to facilitate long-term growth, our region must remain at the forefront of global trends to encourage innovation, advanced manufacturing, direct investment and ensuring freight flow.

Tamworth Regional Council is committed to establishing an environment that; fosters partnerships; propagates creative thinking; facilitates a business engagement focus to enable economic activation; increases the region’s competitiveness and one that is responsive to the changing needs of the region’s stakeholders.
