Wednesday 29 April - Tamworth Historical Society/Calala Cottage
⏳ Step Back in Time at Calala Cottage!
Join us for a delightful preschool adventure at Tamworth’s historic Calala Cottage, where little learners become Back in Time Detectives! Children will explore the cottage on a fun, interactive tour and discover how people lived long ago. With their special picture handout in hand, they’ll search for old fashioned versions of everyday objects we use today ticking them off as they spot them throughout the house. Through hands on discovery and gentle guided questions, children will compare past and present, wonder how life has changed, and notice the things that have stayed the same. This charming program encourages curiosity, observation, and imagination-perfect for young history detectives!
Wednesday 27 May - Australian Country Music Hall of Fame
🎵 Giddy Up for a Country Music Adventure!
Join us at the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame for a fun and creative preschool session all about the wonderful world of country music! Little learners will explore what makes country music special, discover real cowboy hats worn by musicians, and learn about the instruments that bring country songs to life. Children will then design and decorate their very own Cowboy Hat Paper Crown Headband using colourful craft materials-perfect for budding performers and imaginative play. With friendly guidance, hands-on making, and lots of sparks for conversation, this is a playful introduction to Australia’s rich country music heritage. Saddle up and join the fun!
Wednesday 29 July - Guitar Museum
🎸 Strum, Shake & Create at the Guitar Museum!
Get ready for a toe tapping preschool adventure at the Guitar and Wax Museum, where little music makers will discover the magic of guitars and why they’re such an important part of Tamworth’s country music story. Children will explore some of the museum’s most unique and quirky guitars-from abstract designs to the famous Arnott’s Biscuit guitar-before learning how guitars help performers shine on stage. Then it’s time to get creative as each child designs and builds their very own homemade guitar, inspired by Arthur Blanch’s iconic Butter Box Guitar. With colourful craft materials, big imaginations, and lots of fun, this hands-on session is perfect for budding artists and little country music fans. Come along and let your creativity sing!
Wednesday 26 August - Astronomy Club/Tamworth Astronomy and Science Centre
🌙 Blast Off into National Science Week!
Join us at the Tamworth Astronomy and Science Centre for a fun, hands on preschool adventure all about space, stars, and discovery! Little astronauts will explore the exciting world of astronomy, take a close look at real telescopes, and learn about the planets, moon, and stars in our Solar System. Then it’s time for some creative science fun as children design and decorate their very own straw powered rocket-perfect for launching their imaginations sky high! This playful and educational session is the ideal way to celebrate National Science Week with curious young explorers. Come along and get ready to 3… 2… 1… BLAST OFF!

Monday 9 November - Tamworth Power Station Museum
✨Spark curiosity at the Tamworth PowerStation Museum!
Join us for a fun, hands on Static Electricity Discovery session designed especially for preschoolers. Little learners and their families will explore the magic of electricity, discover why the PowerStation Museum is such an important part of Tamworth’s history, and imagine what life was like before the lights first switched on. Enjoy a mini tour, interactive play with balloons and floating tissue paper shapes, and a lively, child friendly introduction to science. Don’t miss this bright and buzzing learning adventure-perfect for curious young minds.
