Issue #13

October 2024

Message from the Mayor

I feel honoured to be returned as your Mayor for the coming two years and I am humbled by the support of my fellow Councillors. It is a privilege to be among one of the nine councillors elected to serve our community. Our first priority must be working together as a team so we can make this community of ours an even better place to live in. We need to focus on what our community needs.

Tamworth Region Mayor Russell Webb

Better Oils lead to better heart health

In a continued effort to promote healthy living choices we launched the Better Oils program earlier this month, encouraging local food businesses to switch to a healthier oil option by June 30, 2025.Aligning with two key Council objectives: improving health outcomes for all residents and raising awareness about healthy living, the program aims to reduce residents’ consumption of excessive saturated and trans fats when eating outside of home.

Future plan for parking

Adding more accessible parking spaces across our region is one of the aims of the draft Tamworth Regional Parking Strategy which is open for feedback. We’d like you to take a look at the strategy, see the proposed actions and tell us what you think.
