It's time to shine a light on those in the Tamworth region who deserve acknowledgement for their achievements and nominate them for either the annual Local Legends Awards and/or Sports Awards.Contributions to our community are highlighted through the Local Legends Awards while the Sports Awards celebrate our sporting champions or administrators.

Tasty times at brand new festival

Spring is in full swing now and it’s the perfect time of year to get together with friends and family to fire up the barbie!The Tamworth Barbeque Festival is happening at the Riverside Sporting Fields Friday to Sunday, 27-29 September, and is set to be a real treat for the tastebuds of locals and visitors alike.

Concrete waste finds new life

We have repurposed 1600 tonnes of concrete which was removed from the former velodrome site into a road base material; diverting it from landfill.

School holiday fun for everyone

Looking for some fun and interesting things to do these school holidays? Look no further than our various school holiday programs. Whether your child is a budding chef, tech enthusiast or a sports fan, there’s something to suit all children.From Monday 30 September to Saturday 12 October each of the libraries in our region, The Youthie, Capitol Theatre and Tamworth Regional Gallery have some fantastic activities planned for kids ages 5 and up.

Securing our water future

We recently finished phase one engagement for the Tamworth Water Security Plan which included focus groups, surveys and stakeholder briefings. Phase two will kick off next month during National Water Week, Monday 21 to Sunday 27 October 2024.
