The next phase of water upgrades for the Manilla community are underway, as new watermains are installed in the heart of town along Progress Lane.
A flow on from Council’s delivery of a $19 million water treatment plant for Manilla, works will update some pipes originally installed when treated water was first supplied to Manilla in the 1930s resulting in improved drinking water quality.
Local contractor TPE Civil is employing people from Manilla, Attunga and Tamworth on this project which is part of Council's Strategic Asset Renewal Program. Works are expected to be completed mid-July.
