Creative community events in Nundle!

Wednesday 8 November, 2023

There is a list of creative events happening in Nundle this weekend and it is all commencing with the launch of a new Nundle Community Garden Mural on Friday 10 November. The mural, created by local artist Natasha Soonchild, will be officially unveiled to the community and set the stage for a weekend of artistic expression, local charm and creativity.

A morning tea will also be held as part of this free event, alongside Jeff Gibson providing live music for attendees.

In her artist statement, Ms Soonchild expressed a desire for the mural to express her love for the Nundle region and its people.

"My aim was for it to be a poetic storytelling showcasing the abundance of our local nature and connection to the land. It is a celebration of nature, its colours, variety, poetry and tenacity,” she said.
Tamworth Regional Council supported the mural as part of it’s public art program for the region.

“Public art is a fantastic way to connect community, and we are proud to be able to support a local artist to bring this area of Nundle to life with the community garden,” said Tamworth Regional Council Director of Gallery and Museums Bridget Guthrie.

Events will continue to unfold in Nundle across the weekend as the Nundle CWA Art Exhibition and Sale begins Friday evening, the Nundle Twilight Christmas Markets opening on Saturday, along with a Wet Felt Hat Making workshop.

The Nundle Twilight Christmas Market will see the Nundle Woollen Mill Grounds come alive with stalls, Christmas lights, music, food, games and of course a visit from Santa Claus on Saturday 11 November from 4:30pm - 8:30pm.
