Youth council meeting update - 25 November

Here is an overview of outcomes from tonight’s Youth Council Meeting:

• The first activities for inclusion on a schedule of events for Youth Week 2022 were confirmed, including an Accessibility Sports Day and Cultural Celebrations. Youth Week is a NSW Government initiative, and an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, and create and enjoy activities and events. In 2022, it will run from Monday 4 April to Thursday 14 April.

• Input has been sought from the Tamworth Regional Youth Council in the creation of a Visitor Economy Plan, on which community engagement including workshops and focus groups has been ongoing for several weeks. The Youth Council resolved to contribute to the draft plan, providing valuable representation to the Tamworth region’s youth and ensuring the plan is inclusive and has a strong focus on the future.
