Request to Speak at Community Consultation
Anyone who would like to address the Council Meeting on matters that are included in the Business Paper for a Council Meeting may do so at Public Forum (previously referred to as 'Community Consultation')
Please complete the below form by 4:30pm the day prior to the Council Meeting. You will be contacted the morning of the Council Meeting to advise the outcome of your application.
Speakers must read the Code of Meeting Practice - Public Forum Guidelines (PDF 337.9KB) (Section 4, Page 5) before registering and addressing Council.
Please Note:
- All Public Forum sessions will be recorded and livestreamed. Recordings will be placed on Council's website for a period of 12 months.
- Council accepts no responsibility for any defamatory statements made by speakers.
- Consideration of items for which requests to address the Council Meeting have been received and will commence at 6pm.
- If you have any documentation to support your presentation, please provide two copies to the Minute Clerk prior to the meeting.
- Audio Visual presentations must be received by 4:30pm the day prior to the meeting.
- Each speaker will be allowed three minutes to address the Council Meeting, an extension of time may be granted if deemed necessary by the Chairperson.
- When asked by the Chairperson of the meeting, please proceed to the Council podium and address Council. At the conclusion of your address, you will be asked to return to your seat.
- Members of the public may quietly enter and leave the open session of the Meeting at any time.
- Public Forum is limited to six registered speakers per item with no more than three in support of the recommendation and three in opposition to the recommendation.
