Development contribution and charges

Under Division 7.1, Subdivision 3 (local infrastructure contributions) of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Council is able to recover the costs of infrastructure and facilities that are provided by Council to meet the demands of future development. 

There are a range of public facilities identified under Council’s Contribution Plans including acquisition and embellishment of open space, urban roads and car parking.

Developer charges for water supply, sewerage and stormwater derive from section 64 of the Local Government Act 1993 by means of a cross-reference to Section 306 of the Water Management Act 2000.  These charges are detailed in the below documents to outline the developer charges to be levied on development areas utilising Council’s water supply and sewerage infrastructure:
