Start of works at Hercules Street
Drivers who regularly travel on Hercules Street in West Tamworth are advised that construction will start this week on replacing stormwater pipes.
Works will start on Tuesday (17 July, 2020) on Hercules Street, between Bridge Lane and Gipps Street, and are expected to be completed in eight weeks.
While work is in progress, traffic will continue to have access in the street. Construction will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 5pm.
Drivers are asked to take extra care and obey the construction signage.
This is part of a wider project to improve the stormwater drainage system in the area to reduce localised flooding during major storm events. This stage of the works is budgeted to cost $500,000 and is funded by Tamworth Regional Council’s Drainage Reserve.
