School holiday programs at Entertainment Venues
From underwater adventures and live music to powerful theatre and internationally acclaimed artists, there’s plenty for both kids and adults to see these school holidays across Tamworth’s Entertainment Venues.
All the way from the United States, Grammy Award-winning R&B/soul singer-songwriter Macy Gray is set to take on the Tamworth Town Hall. Following her sensational sold-out 2024 Australian tour, Macy Gray is returning for her largest ever tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Her sit single I Try is a fan favourite and went straight to number one in Australia and in New Zealand, while On How Life Is topped the Australian charts and spent 44 weeks on the New Zealand Albums Chart, a long time before America fully caught on.
Macy Gray will perform at Town Hall this Sunday 27 September at 7:00pm, with tickets still available and The Laneway Bar opened from 6pm.
From one music legend to another, Australian music superstar Kate Ceberano will follow, performing at the Tamworth Town Hall on Saturday 3 October at 7:00pm. Her Australian Made Tour 2026 celebrates the songs and artists that helped shape Australian music. Audiences can expect favourites from across her celebrated career, as well as music that pays tribute to Aussie legends such as Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly and INXS.
Rounding out the school holidays at Town Hall, is one of Australia’s most celebrated duos, Vika & Linda, whose voices have captivated audiences for over 35 years particularly as part of Paul Kelly’s iconic sound. The duo is currently on tour, celebrating their ninth studio album Where Do You Come From? They perform on Saturday 10 October at 7:30pm.
Vika & Linda and Macy Gray Live are both part of the Tamworth Town Hall Opry series – supported by the Federal Government’s Revive Live Program, which goes towards Production, Artist Fees and Accessibility Costs.
The Capitol Theatre also has an impressive line-up of shows across the next fortnight. Shining a spotlight on one of literature's greatest stories, Bell Shakespeare is bringing its acclaimed production of Macbeth to Tamworth. One of Shakespeare's most gripping and enduring tragedies, Macbeth explores ambition, power and fate in a fast-paced production that has captivated audiences across Australia. Whether discovering the play for the first time or revisiting a classic, theatre lovers and
students alike are in for a compelling live performance. It’s on Saturday 26 September at 7:30pm.
Families won't miss out either, with Erth's Shark Dive offering an unforgettable underwater adventure for young audiences. Created by the internationally acclaimed Erth Visual & Physical Inc., the immersive production brings giant prehistoric and modern-day marine creatures to life, allowing children to dive into an interactive theatrical experience packed with education, imagination and excitement. There’s multiple performance times to choose from including Tuesday 6 October at 6:00pm and Wednesday 7 October at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 6:00pm

Children’s music group The Quokkas will also entertain the youngest audiences. As heard on ABC Music, The Quokkas hail from Newcastle and have taken the kids music world by storm. Their show is on Saturday 10 October at 10am at Tamworth Community Events Centre
Following the holidays, WOLF will hit the Capitol Theatre stage. Presented by Circa, this visually stunning contemporary acrobatic performance explores instinct, identity and connection.
Entertainment Venues Manager Roz Pappalardo says “At Entertainment Venues, we believe regional audiences deserve the same opportunity to experience exceptional, ambitious and diverse work as audiences in capital cities.
“That means bringing internationally recognised artists, leading Australian theatre companies, contemporary circus, new Australian work and extraordinary experiences for children and families right here to Tamworth.
“So we invite, come on in, bring your friends and family. There’s a place here for you.”
Tickets are on sale now. Audiences are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out.
