Dream. Dare. Do. this Youth Week!

Young people will take centre stage this week, as a series of events and activities highlight their creativity, voice and role in shaping the community.

Tamworth Regional Youth Councillors have created a vibrant mix of events for young people aged 12 – 25 to get involved in during this year’s Youth Week, running from Thursday 16 and Sunday 26 April.

Guided by the theme Dream. Dare. Do., this year’s program features three key school holiday events; an Art Scavenger Hunt, Tamworth’s Got Talent and Disco, and the Youth Markets. Together, these events provide opportunities for young people across the region to connect with their peers, to try something new and to explore their interests, from creative arts through to performance and entrepreneurship.

Tamworth Region Deputy Youth Mayor, Treasure Nnorom, says it’s important to create an environment where young people can come together, try something new and celebrate what makes our community so vibrant.

“What makes Youth Week special is that it’s created by young people, for young people. It’s a chance to showcase local talent, support new ideas and celebrate the role young people play in our community,” she said.

For those inspired to take their involvement even further, Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open to join the 2027/2028 Tamworth Regional Youth Council, offering young people the opportunity to have a direct voice in shaping future initiatives and representing their peers.

EOIs can be submitted by visiting www.tamworth.nsw.gov.au/about/forms/youth-council-expressions-of-interest before Monday 31 August, 2026.
