Hats Off to Country returns

Hats Off to Country (Hats Off) returns this weekend! From Thursday 7 July to Sunday 10 July you can catch live country music and other entertainment throughout Tamworth. The festival includes the fan-favourite ‘Cowboy Crawl’ this Friday night.

What began as a concert in June 2000, to salute the King of Country Music Slim Dusty, has become a mid-year celebration of all things country music in Tamworth.

Tamworth Regional Council’s country music co-ordinator Cheryl Brown said this year’s Hats Off will be a great opportunity to enjoy live entertainment again on the back of the recent Tamworth Country Music Festival.

“The Hats Off to Country festival has entertained visitors and Tamworth locals for 22 years now and it is such a fantastic time to get together to enjoy some live music,” Cheryl said.

“You should expect a lot of quality entertainment from over 50 artists across the four days including a big crop of young local artists this year.”

The festival is spread across many Tamworth venues, including the Tudor Hotel, Wests League Club, Wests’ Diggers, The Pub, The Longyard, The Family Hotel, Southgate Inn, Tamworth Services Club, North Tamworth Bowling Club, The Oasis Hotel, The Courthouse Hotel, The Press, The Post Office Hotel and Joe Maguire’s Hotel.

A favourite of the festival is the Cowboy Crawl – a chauffeured bus trip from venue to venue soaking up the best that Hats Off has to offer. The Crawl includes four venues and a free hat for just $10 but tickets are limited. Visit www.hatsofftocountry.com.au for tickets and details.

A full program of ticketed and free shows is available at www.hatsofftocountry.com.au or you can get a hard copy of the program from the Tamworth Visitor information Centre at the Big Golden Guitar..
