Show your love for Tamworth City Library

03 Feb 2020

Uncover something new at Tamworth City Library this February, perhaps even a new love.

Tamworth City Library has some special events in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day, with Literary Trivia
Night being held on Wednesday 12 February at 5:30pm, and Library Lovers’ Day on Friday 14
February.

Amanda Burke, Tamworth Regional Council Reader Services Librarian said: “Hosting these events is
a fantastic way to celebrate the industry with old and possibly new library members.”

“If you have a love of reading or would like to try something new then Literary Trivia Night is not to be missed. Wine and cheese will be provided, and victors will be rewarded handsomely for their literary prowess’, Ms. Burke said.

“Library Lovers’ Day is a community event and annual celebration of libraries as highly-evolved social spaces where people can meet, collaborate, research, learn, share and relax.”

On the Friday, Tamworth City Library will be handing out reading challenge cards encouraging
patrons to read ‘outside of their normal comfort zone’.

Ms. Burke said our public libraries provide access to information and resources which have been carefully curated; chosen because they are high quality and meet our communities’ needs.

“These resources and services are available everyday Tamworth City Library is open, however
Library Lovers Day is a fun way to celebrate what makes libraries great” Ms. Burke said.

Literary Trivia Night is a free event for those aged over 18, following the theme of ‘uncover something new’. The maximum number of people per team is four, but individual bookings are also welcome. RSVP by Monday 10 February; call (02) 6767 5211 to secure your place.

Library Lovers’ Day is an annual event coordinated by the Australian Library and Information Association, aiming to raise the profile of public libraries across Australia as quality information services that support lifelong learning.
