2026 Tamworth Country Music Festival - Roaming Entertainer / Non-Music Busker Application Roaming Entertainer / Non-Music busker - any person, other than a music busker, that provides entertainment for an audience and solicits funds in return for the entertainment. Entertainment can be roaming or static and can include a demonstration performance or display. The entertainment is of a spontaneous nature and does not involve the installation of a structure of any kind. The entertainment must be suitable for a family friendly event. Please note: In order to apply for a roaming entertainer permit/non music busker, you must fit the description above. If you do not fit this description, you will not be eligible for a roaming entertainer's permit. Tamworth Country Music Festival has brought back Country Fringe over the last couple of years. Country Fringe is inclusive and accessible programming that has performance happening on the streets of Tamworth throughout the Festival. Applications close on - Wednesday 10 January 2026 at 5pm. I don’t have computer access. Can I register for Roaming Performer? Applications are encouraged via the online form. Roaming Performers are asked to visit friends or family or public libraries for computer access as needed. What is the Definition of a Roaming Performer – Non-musical? Any person, other than a music busker, that provides entertainment for an audience and solicits funds in return for the entertainment. Entertainment can be roaming or static and can include a demonstration performance or display. The entertainment is of a spontaneous nature and does not involve the installation of a structure of any kind. The entertainment must be suitable for a family friendly event. Are there terms and conditions related to Roaming Performer? Yes. The Terms and Conditions must be read and agreed to prior to completing an application form. Should the Terms and Conditions be breached, you may have your Roaming Performer Permit revoked and be asked to leave. Why do I need to apply to become a roaming performer? There are limited spaces and timeslots available Identification, Public Liability insurance and a Risk Management plan are required prior to performing Do I need to audition to be a roaming performer at TCMF2026? No, you do not need to audition to roaming performer at TCMF, however you do need to complete the application form with all required information. Is there a fee to be a roaming performer? No, applications are free. It is needed for identification purposes. Will I be paid to be a Roaming Performer/Entertainer? You will not be paid to perform, however it is recommended that you put your hat/container out to allow you to collect tips from the audience. How do I know which shop/site/location I will be performing at? Roaming Performers will be notified prior to the end of 2025 of the various locations that have been pre-approved for their performances along with approved timeslots. It is important to note that there will be Roaming Performer exclusion zone (please refer to the CBD Map for 2026 - available on the TCMF Maps page) Can I get access to power when Roaming Performer? You are encouraged to ensure that any equipment requiring power is battery operated as there is limited power available within the CBD Festival Closure do to other confirmed activities. Can I have vehicle access into Peel Street to deliver my equipment to my site? No permits will be provided to Roaming Performers, and they are encouraged to perform with a limited amount of equipment as entry into Peel Street will be via foot. Strict road closures operate during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Vehicle access into Peel Street is prohibited during the Festival period – from 14 – 27 January 2026. Is there a time limit on how long I can perform? We are trying to allocate timeslot in which you can perform. This information is on your application form and will be confirmed by the Fringe Coordinator prior to the Festival as we are also working in conjunction with all other performances within the CBD Road Festival Closure. Due to health and environmental conditions, it’s not recommended to perform all day every day; as the Festival is 10 days in the summer heat and we’d love you to enjoy your time in Tamworth. As a Roaming performer can I enter the Country Music Parade? Yes, if you know you are going to be in Tamworth on the last weekend of the Festival. We encourage you to enter the Country Music Parade via the entry form on the TCMF website. The Country Music Parade takes place along Peel St, on Saturday 24 January, starting at 9am. The entry form for Country Music Parade will open in October 2025.
