All levels of government are focusing on the need to proactively develop sustainable water use practices and to help water users by providing financial assistance. The Federal Government currently has the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative, the NSW Government has the Residential Rebate Program and Council provides assistance through the Residential Water Saving Rebate Scheme.

The Residential Water Saving Rebate Scheme is designed to help residents optimise their water consumption and will run until 28 February 2014.
