The aptly named Yacannabuybetta Buy Back Centre was established in 1997. The ongoing community support for separating and supplying reusable goods, as well as purchasing goods, has ensured the continued success of the Buy Back Centre. The centre receives an average of 300 visitors per week who either deliver goods or go shopping. Yacannabuybetta operates like any other shop or store with stock or items for sale except for one small difference - all the goods for sale have been discarded as waste. Often these items undertake a transformation and become a valuable new usable product.

Council's Buy Back Centre Yacannabuybetta is located at the Tamworth Waste Management Facility and aims to prevent as much reusable material as possible from ending up as landfill. Yacannabuybetta receives an average of 300 visitors per week and processes in excess of 100 tonnes of material a year.

In general, anything that could be reused or used as parts is suitable for the Buy Back Centre. Yacannabuybetta staff will provide advice and reject unsuitable items. Be aware that any whitegoods that are purchased from Yacannabuybetta are sold on the principle that they do not work and are to be used for parts only.
