Five roads in the Tamworth Regional Council area are closed to traffic due to flooding.
As of 9:30pm, Friday 2 December, Tamworth Regional Council has closed the following roads:
- Airlie stock route – near Rocky Gully Road – major damage to road
- Burgmanns Lane, Tamworth - awaiting repairs
- Kingstown to Warrabah Road
- Moonbi Gap Road, Moore Creek - causeway at Moore creek Road – awaiting repairs
- Tilmunda Road, Bendemeer
Tamworth Regional Council crews are currently inspecting each of the areas and warn drivers to proceed through flooded roads with extreme caution.
Please be advised that most of the Tamworth floodgates are still closed. They are being monitored by Council staff and any appropriate actions will be taken as needed should conditions change.
