Council wishes to advise that the annual flood barrier installation exercise will be held on Tuesday 28 August 2011 commencing at 7.30pm. The exercise involves the installation of flood barriers across the main Peel River Bridge in Bridge Street. In order to carry out part of this essential exercise, Bridge Street, between Carter Street and Kable Avenue will be closed to through traffic between 7.30pm and 01.00am (Weather Permitting).

Access to Businesses along Bridge Street immediately affected by the closure will be maintained at all times. A sign posted detour will be in place for this period. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these necessary works and will endeavour to minimise any disruptions to residents and motorists.
