Tamworth Regional Council will be carrying out the resurfacing works at the intersection upgrade of Bridge and Belmore Streets, West Tamworth.
These works are programmed to commence on Monday 17 October to 28 October 2011, weather permitting and subject to availability of specialist contractors. It is expected that the work will take about six nights to complete over a two week period.
The high daytime traffic volumes on Bridge Street and the intention to minimise disruption to road users, necessitate the work be undertaken outside normal working hours. It is therefore planned to work between the hours of 6:00pm to 6:00am on the relevant nights.
The work will involve activities such as milling the existing road surface and reinstating with new asphalt to the design levels. The local effect is likely to be limited to noise and vibration associated with this activity. Every attempt will be made to minimise the effect of this work on residents.
