The NSW Government is funding the $2.5 million upgrade of Manilla Road (Peel Street) between Tribe and Jewry streets. To reduce impacts on traffic, work will soon be carried out at night outside standard working hours.
Tamworth Regional Council is building the upgrade on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services. The work involves widening Manilla Road to improve safety and relieve traffic congestion on Manilla Road.
Night work will be carried out on Wednesday 26 April and then for another 1 night. Our working hours will be between 6.30pm and 6.30am. If delays are encountered due to weather the work will be postponed to a later date.
The work will include heavy patching and the installation of a 50mm asphalt overlay from Marius St to Tribe St on the north bound lanes.
How will the work affect you?
There will be some noise associated with this work but every effort will be made to minimise the impact on residents. Where possible we will schedule noisier work to take place before 10pm.
The work will involve the use of lighting towers, delivery trucks, asphalt paving machines and lighting vehicles which will all be fitted with reversing squawkers to reduce noise.
will be on site. North and south bound traffic will be pushed to the south bound lanes as work proceeds.
