Any proposed development that is not Exempt Development or Complying Development requires the approval of Council. A Development Application (DA) must be submitted to Council with accompanying documentation for assessment and determination
The minimum documentation required to accompany a DA is specified by Schedule 1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000. Council has also prepared a matrix to guide you about the information required for particular development proposals. This information is required to assist Council to assess and determine such applications.
For full details please view the Documentation Checklist for Development Applications
Council has also produced a Guide to preparing a Statement of Environmental Effects, including proforma template for certain types of minor development.
Council's Development and Approvals Division is now paper free and only one electronic copy of all required documentation must accompany a Development Application.
If a proposed land use is not listed in the matrix or you require clarification please contact Council’s Development and Approvals Division by phoning (02) 6767 5507.
