Friday February 12, 2010
The first of the 2010 round of Author Talk sessions across Tamworth Regional Council Library is a doubleheader on Saturday February 13 to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The February author talk will see chick-lit author Dianne Blacklock guest star at Manilla and Tamworth libraries as part of the statewide Library Lovers Day being held to celebrate the romantic for February 14.
Blacklock will talk about her latest book, Three’s a Crowd, her sixth novel so far, at sessions on Saturday February 13 – the day before Valentine’s Day but designed to get readers in the mood for the most romantic of calendar days.
Blacklock will be at Manilla Library at 10:30am and at Tamworth City Library at 2:00pm on those days.
Three’s a Crowd examines friendships among women and the relationships between friends and how susceptible to change and sensitivities they are.
Blacklock has been a teacher, trainer, counsellor, check-out chick, and even one of those annoying market researchers you avoid in shopping centres. Nowadays she tries not to annoy anyone by staying home and writing.
Tamworth information and reader services librarian Kate Nalder says Blacklock is the first of the 2010 authors for the TRC circuit. Last year, the Tamworth city library hosted 10 talks with the most popular the theatre and Norman Lindsay model Pearl Goldman, gardening guru Jennifer Stackhouse and former journalist and magazine features editor Susan Duncan.
The author talk is free and refreshments will be served. The talks take the form of a presentation from the author followed by a Q&A session.
