Destination Tamworth, in conjunction with Inland NSW Tourism, is today hosting a workshop to help tourism operators across the region develop their product and packages.
Seventeen people from businesses stretching from Bendemeer and Manilla to Tamworth and Nundle are taking part in the business planning and product development workshop.
They represent a variety of types of tourism operators including caterers, motels, hotels, tourist parks and bed and breakfasts.
Destination Tamworth's Tourism and Industry Product Development Co-ordinator, Rob Harrison said the workshop is part of a comprehensive business and product development program.
'The aim is to help tourism operators develop their product and packages,' he said.
'It included a business health check which was conducted by an industry specialist before today, then the one-day workshop and will continue with up to four one-on-one mentoring sessions with a tourism business specialist.
'It's all about working with individual operators to help them develop their businesses and how they operate which, in turn, makes the Tamworth region's tourism industry stronger.'
Destination NSW is a supporter of the Business and Product Development Program.
