The National Cutting Horse Association’s (NCHA) premier event will once again be staged at the Australian Equine Livestock and Events Centre (AELEC) in Tamworth, New South Wales, from the 2 – 12 of June 2011.
One of the most popular events on the NCHA Tamarang Futurity’s notable calendar is the Coopers Animal Health Bull Ride and Rodeo on Friday 10 June, 7.30pm at AELEC.
The 2010 Rodeo was a roaring success with crowds wowed by the thrills and spills of the most talented Cowboys and Cowgirls in Australia. Mr Glenn Morgan, Manager of the NCHA said, ‘Last year the rodeo was a roaring success with crowds boasting about it being a highly thrilling and entertaining event. We are confident that in 2011 The Coopers Animal Health Bull Ride and Rodeo will be bigger and better than ever before.’
The Coopers Animal Health Bull Ride and Rodeo is an invitation bull ride with the top 20 cowboys from the Australian Bushman Campdraft and Rodeo Association riding it out for the prestigious title. The invitational Saddle Bronc and Bareback Bronc Riding will have the top six cowboys in a Champion of Champions Challenge enduring the spills against some of the most ferocious bucking stock from the Matt Adams Rodeo Team.
The Ladies Barrel Race is a crowd pleaser, showing some of Australia’s leading cow girls in action. The girls vie for the title in a race against the electronic timers, showing off their fast-paced skills and quick thinking. This event is restricted to 20 contestants and has a total payout of $3000.
Stock will be provided by Matt and Rachel Adams from Mendooran, New South Wales who are prominent Rodeo Stock Producers and known Australia-wide for producing some of the best stock within Australia. The couple has previously won the prestigious ‘ABCRA Bucking Bull of the Year’ as well as numerous saddle bronc and bareback horse titles.
The ABCRA leading contestants use this event as a preview for the National Finals Rodeo set to take place during the 2012 Tamworth Country Music Festival, running from the 20 – 29 January.
