Tamworth Regional Council art gallery trainee Kate Hofman was among the winners at the New England North West Region 2012 State Training Awards at Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre on Friday night.
She won an award for Achievement in Industry for museum practice.
Two other Council staff Ellyse Kennedy,a business support trainee in Council's Water Enterprises Directorate, and Alex Brandon, an Information Technology trainee, were also finalists in the awards.
Tamworth Regional Council General Manager, Paul Bennett, praised all three staff.
'It is a great achievement being a finalist - they should all be proud of reaching this stage of the awards,' he said.
Being named as a finalist for Friday night's awards follows Ms Hofman's success at the North Coast Institute of TAFE's annual awards night last month. She was named as the North Coast Institute of TAFE - Trainee of the Year and Creative Industries Faculty Student of the Year.
