All Council owned land is classified as either Community land or Operational land under the Local Government Act 1993.
Community Land
- community land cannot be sold by Council
- community land can be leased but only for purposes as defined in the plan for management over the land
Operational Land
- operational land can be sold by Council
- operational land can be leased by Council for both commercial and community use
