All monies raised each year from the additional rate increase above rate peg will be used solely for the purpose of capital renewal works on existing community assets associated with council’s general operations. This will be in addition to funding levels currently allocated so that the assets can be maintained at current condition.
The following describes the types of assets included and an estimate of the amounts to be allocated to each. The allocations will be based on required maintenance levels determined in each of the asset management plans.
Transport Infrastructure:
This includes sealed and unsealed roads and timber bridges.
The current funding gap for this class is $2,400,000 per annum
Stormwater:
This includes stormwater drains, kerb and channel.
The current funding gap for this class is $325,000 per annum
Buildings:
This includes buildings used for the purposes of; administration, operations, recreation, community, cultural, and public amenity.
The current funding gap for this class is $720,000 per annum.
Parks and Gardens:
This includes; playgrounds, parks and gardens, open space, sportsgrounds and cemeteries.
The current funding gap for this class is $86,000 per annum
Swimming Pools:
This includes all council swimming pools.
The current funding gap for this class is $250,000 per annum
