Changes made to the legislation that sets out how local government is constituted and the nature and extent of power, authority, duties and functions introduced a new Integrated Planning and Reporting framework for all New South Wales councils.
Council is undertaking the Keychange Project to identify the community’s vision for the future of Tamworth and define key strategies to achieve this vision.
The new framework integrates council planning into a broader context to focus on the community’s needs and increase efficiency. The framework recognises that Communities do not exist in isolation – they are part of a larger natural, social, economic and political environment.
The framework allows councils to identify and plan for funding priorities and service levels in consultation with their community and will improve council’s long term community, financial and asset planning.
Tamworth Regional Council needs to be ready to implement the new framework by 30 June 2012.
