The Competition

Skateboard Deck Competition

To celebrate the opening of Viaduct Park Youth Recreation Hub, the Tamworth Regional Youth Council are giving local youth the opportunity to design a skate deck.  

The winning design will be professionally printed on a skate deck which will be presented to the creator at the opening of the Hub on Sunday,26 May 2019.

Two additional prizes will be awarded to runners up.  They will have their design printed on hoodies which will also be presented at the Hub opening.

The entry form has space where you will need to briefly describe your idea/s and/or the inspiration behind it.

Need some help designing?
Attend one of our four skate deck design workshops across the region to help you refine your designs.  Check out the school holiday program at The Youthie for more information.


Entries close at 11:59pm on Friday, 10 May 2019.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

 

Prizes

Winner

The winner will receive a skateboard with their artwork printed on the skate deck!


Runner Up Prize:

2 x Runners up will have their designs printed on hoodies.


All winners will be invited to attend the official opening of the Viaduct Park Youth Recreation Hub to receive thier prizes.

How to Enter


Skateboard Deck Competition 2Entries are open to all youth residing in the Tamworth Regional Council Local Government Area, aged between 12 and 18 years*.  

You can use graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, Gimp or Microsoft Paint etc), online platforms such as Canva, photography, painting, drawing or use a combination of methods...

if you can create it, you can enter!


Step 1: Simply download the template file here and then get to work.  

If you need to print out the template, go right ahead.  

Step 2: Create your design.

Step 3: Submit your entry with the artwork attached.  

Please title your file using the following format: Full Name - Design Name - Skate Deck Design Comp 

eg. John Doe - Skate is Life - Skate Deck Design Comp.


Each person can enter up to two designs, but only one design can be entered per entry form.

*For entrants under the age of 18, parental/guardian consent is required.

Terms & Conditions

A few rules and requirements to guide you in the creation of your entry and artwork:

  • Designs must be original works and created specifically for this Skate Deck Competition.  You will have to agree that the artwork is original.*
  • All artwork is to be PG rated or similar.  No vulgar imagery and no swear words.  Special characters may be accepted.  If in doubt, contact the Tamworth Regional Youth Centre on 6767 5749.
  • After scanning or photographing your artwork design and uploading it to the entry form, you must retain the original artwork design which may be required for producing the skate deck or hoodies if your entry is a prize winner.
  • There is a limit of two designs per person.
  • Copyright in your artwork remains yours, however the winner and runners up will be required to confirm ownership of the artwork and any breach of copyright is the responsibility of the entrant.
