Public Consumption of Alcohol
Tamworth Regional Council takes responsible consumption of alcohol seriously. With community safety a high priority, the establishment of Alcohol Free Zones in various areas across the region and participation in the Tamworth and District Liquor Accord, Council is working to reduce the problems around late night drinking in CBD areas. Council also now has a role as the Local Statutory Authority under the new liqour licensing regulations.

Community safety in relation to alcohol and anti-social behaviour is of high importance to Council, which is being addressed through a number of initiatives, including a secure taxi rank in Tamworth and the use of CCTV in the Tamworth CBD.
