Swap your noxious weeds for FREE native seedlings
Tamworth Regional Council Noxious Weeds Unit is encouraging the community to check their gardens for noxious weeds and to exchange them for free native seedlings during Local Government Week.
The "Plant Me Instead" program is being run as part of the Council’s Local Government Week displays.
Natasha Soar, Senior Environmental Projects Officer said any resident who hands over one of Tamworth region’s declared noxious weeds to a member of the weeds unit team will receive a free native seedling. There are about 95 plants declared noxious in the Tamworth region.
"And you must bring us the noxious weed - roots and all - to receive a seedling," Natasha said.
This offer only applies to declared noxious weeds in the Tamworth region. If you’re not sure what your weed is, a member of the weeds unit will help identify it.
