The Kootingal Pumpkin Festival is held each April at the Kootingal Sportsground. There is something for the whole family including:
- live entertainment
- food court
- wine tasting
- children and adult pumpkin competitions
- wood Chopping
- shearing
- pumpkin bowling and
- dozens of regional stalls
The festival features wood chopping, shearing demonstrations, live entertainment as well as an art show and sale.

Where is Kootingal
It is 17km north east of Tamworth on the New England Highway, at the foot of the beautiful Moonbi Ranges.
