Aged and Disability Services
Tamworth Regional Council offers a range of services for senior citizens and people with a disability within the Tamworth region. Our community workers provide information, referrals and assistance as well as organising a range of activities. We also support Home and Community Care Services (HACC) in the region. The Disability Services Brochure provides information on community services and there is further detail on accessible services and facilities, including toilets and disabled parking locations throughout Tamworth city. You will also find details of regional Access Advisory Groups as well as the New England Carer Support Service.

Manellae Lodge is a group residence located in Manilla and managed by Tamworth Regional Council which provides full time residential care for 20 frail aged residents and one respite bed for frail aged residents still living at home. Units are individually designed so that residents can share a social life while maintaining their right to independence and privacy.

Council supports a wide range of Home and Community Care Services (HACC) across the region. These services include community transport, meals, day activities, elders and support groups.

Council celebrates Senior Week each year with a host of events to celebrate the valuable contribution seniors make to communities across the region. The Tamworth Regional Seniors Week Awards recognise the assistance individuals and community groups have provided to seniors. The Awards and events are Council's way of thanking the older members of our community.

To be eligible for a pension rebate on your rates and annual charges you must be the person liable for the rates and annual charges on a property. The property must be your sole or principal residence, and you must have a current pensioner concession card.
